Hi People.

I'm a newly qualified pilot and fly from Rufforth in York.

Can you recommend any airfields to Visit not too far from my "home airfield"

I would like to stretch my wings a little bit at a time.

HI Vince,

try Headon , 3 miles East of Gamston, lincs
Caunton Nth westiish of Newark
Oxton near Caunton
these three have good facilities and are more microlight than GA. You could follow the Trent down from the Ouse rather than cheating by sat nav. Good map reading practice.
Also Brian Palfreymans place at Watnall on the NW corner of Hucknall,Nottingham zone. Follow the M1 and its on yer right,
You're always welcome at Coal Aston but unfortunately facilities are non existent.

Vince,

How about Bagby? It's only a short hop from Rufforth and no landing fee due to a reciprocal agreement. Petra makes a mean bacon butty and there's always a huge bowl of mint impereals on the bar and they're free (the mints, not the butties).

Hi Vince, Linley Hill are having a microlight fly-in at the end of May, should be a good do, pretty close to Rufforth too
