Yes, after a brilliant year and many happy hours flying her I may be making a big mistake, but Tango Papa is up for sale!

GT450 G-GTTP
Airframe 270hrs engine 280hrs.
Full analogue dash with ATR500 panel mount radio and Filsner Mode S Transponder.
Thermostat fitted and Mod approved so don't need to cover the oil cooler in winter.
Pod bag, Trike and Wing covers, prop covers.

She has taken me on Fly UK and to Tannheim in Germany and from Cherbourg to Bournemouth over the channel.

Absolutely reliable and a joy to fly. She cruises at 85mph and has no bad habits or turns.

I'm only selling because I have bought a new plane and would happily sell TP to a friend as I know how good she is.

Offers in the region of 22k

I have a confession to make. Later in the afternoon I went to the hangar to do a few bits and accidentally stuck my prop through the wing while I was manoeuvring my trike (I confess I should've turned the engine off in the hangar)

Hope you don't mind, you haven't paid for it yet have you? :-)

Andy, I really hope you haven't damaged my next pride and joy before I've even introduced her to my special polish?

Remember, I now know where your plane lives.........

Ah, thought you were calling after leaving Brian's. Never mind.

As it happens I ended up on the car all day. New rear springs, discs and pads all 'round. Pretty much took all day!

SteveTurnbull
16-11-13, 21:47 PM
Didnt leave brians until late, had to wait for the second aa truck as the first one wasnt big enough for the motorhome :-(

Should be a cheap fix, just a bit awkward this weekend!

Dave,

You'll just have to keep guessing for now, but it is true that a previous owner of my new plane, may have spent some time in Her Majesty's Pleasure.
I will be checking all hidden compartments to ensure there are no hidden surprises before I fly her out of the country!

WobbleWing
18-11-13, 19:29 PM
No sure he actually used the aircraft for the illegal import, did he?

Don't fight it Russ, I know you have now tasted flight for real in the back of a flex, now you just need to try it from the front!.....Fixed winger = look out the side...bugger a door....look out the other side...bugger a door....look out the front...bugger a big dash and an engine in the way...ok guess i'll have to put a gopro on the wing and watch the flight later....

SteveTurnbull
18-11-13, 21:06 PM
Lol

Just to confirm, there is no evidence that my new plane was ever directly involved with drugs!

And just to reassure my friends, I am not gay!

Can't wait to give her a good polish when I get her home :-)

well there is the GTR at cambridge that just sold on AFORS which could be it, or if he did it right it is the dodgy CTSW from northants police :D

WobbleWing

As far as I read, it was cannabis resin smuggled in through fish boxes on a boat :-) nice little money spinner to buy an aircraft with... Until he got caught :-)

SteveTurnbull

Cheers Jim,

Looks like the 3 axis pilots will have to accept I upgraded to a newer flex :-)

Would hate to think I'd become a stick fiddler, just like starting rumours :-)

It's only a matter of time. I predict your next plane will be a proper one!

paultheparaglider

It looks like a really lovely trike. Pretty clearly it had the tundra tyre option fitted so that it could operate out of all those rough and short drug runner strips between Northern Africa and Scotland (and now Hereford). And the Mode S to set a false trail - I'm assuming Steve will reprogram it for jjones's registration after the above comment.

When it visits, I'll have the sniffer dog at the ready. My money is on the stash being hidden in the pylon.

By the way, I heard a rumour that due to the aircraft's, how can I put it, somewhat unconventional provenance, it comes with police and interpol markers on it. The previous owners almost certainly put it up for sale because they were fed up with the constant strip searches and worse that happened any time they took it out of the hangar. ;-)

Steve, I went to the hangar today to see if there were any spare parts there that you might want.
I can send you all the egg boxes that we used to stick on the pod to absorb the radar, the false floor that was fitted under the seat and the special stuffable tyres that were special order. ;)

SteveTurnbull
29-11-13, 13:10 PM
SOLD!!!!!
The first person to view has agreed the asking price, subject to a permit being completed at my cost, which is only fair.
We have shaken hands and with the deposit paid, Tango Papa is now sold!

A good plane and I will be sad to see her go, but the new owner has promised to look after her properly :-)

Just shows that there are buyers out there for good flexwings.
My mate sold his GT450 a few months ago and it went within a day or so of the ad going on AFORS.
Well done :)

Agreed Jim. The plane is in very good condition, but I also cleaned it at the weekend and polished her ready for showing. She's good enough to display at the NEC now :-)

Worth making the effort I think!
