  1. Spamfield re-visited.

Last year was my first Spamfield. I had heard much about it and seen the numerous videos on YouTube so my expectations were high and I must say they were exceeded.
So, for twelve months I have been looking forward to this year's event. The excitement was blighted with the doubt that the event would actually take place due to Sandown's future being in doubt. This was eventually sorted, which was a huge relief because after camping last year in a tent I decided this year I would hire a Caravan ...

  2. AFL (Actual forced landing)

During training PFL's were never my favourite excercise, I had nothing against them but for some reason they never did it for me, maybe because I had the comfort of my Instructor in the back so I knew if I screwed things up he would be there to bail me out, so to speak. Even on my GFT I dont think that I performed as well as maybe I should have.
I also have to admit that since I got my licence performing PFL's has not been high on my list of priorities, though I have done some.

  3. Microlighting..More than just flying.

Following a couple of incidents with the Blade in the last few weeks I decided that today would be maintenance. So what to do, firstly I spoke to a couple of people for their advice. It's amazing how much knowledge people have, this is one advantage of being on a Forum like this. ...

  4. First Fright!!

After looking out of the window from work yesterday at the perfect flying day I was left hoping that the weather on Friday would be the same. Yeah, right, you know how it is, 15k winds, rain showers, the possibility of improving conditions in the afternoon. Anyway, I decided to go to the Airfield, if nothing else I could tinker with my GPS (cheers Andy Dixon!) on the machine and have a chat with other pilots.
My brother phoned me, asked if I was going flying so I took him along.

  5. Another landmark Day

A decent day at last, I checked the weather on the Met Office site & everything was rosy, so I put the kettle on so I could have a Coffee whilst planning a flight.
All the data typed in and routes printed, all that was left to do was get my lazy son out of bed and pack the car with my gear and drive over to Beverley.

Visibility was good and hardly any wind, I must have done something right this week!
It was cold, but once I am suited up I don't usually feel the cold.Everything ...
