    radio changeover

Anyone know the date for the supposed changeover to 833 spacing and am I right in thinking that I will need to purchase both a radio and interface for the changeover or will Icom have a sequence for the micro switches inside my interface in order to use the new radio's.
Currently using an Icom A22e and a microavionics powered interface.
    cheers, Dave

See here for a full explanation http://www.lightaircraftassociation..../May/radio.pdf

So its 31 December 2017, unless the date has been rolled back since the LAA published that article (and of course it could still be rolled back - its nearly two years to go).

By then you will need a new radio. I'm not sure about the interface. If you buy an Icom A6 it uses a supply voltage of 10.5v so needs another box in the power supply side of things to reduce the input voltage.

    hi dave,
I have replaced my icom A20 with an A6 using a microavionics interface I had to change a couple of toggles around inside to allow lower voltage to power the radio easily done when you have the instructions

With Lynx it depends on what interface you currently have. Anything produced since somewhere between 1995 and 2000 (depending on what) may be reconfigurable. The technical detail can be found via this page on the Lynx website: http://www.lynx-avionics.com/English...tech_home.html

I have an electronic copy of the microavionics manual - link HERE if it helps
If I am ever on life support - switch me off and back on again - see if that works

There is also a 12V to 11V step down in the A6 kit - it's with the bit with the ciggie lighter adaptor, but please check before destroying your radio.

Lynx can supply a step down box too.

Still waiting for the BMAA to come up with a simple radio swap TIL/SMM.
