    Headset

    Evening all,
I would like to buy myself a headset, but I am not sure which way to go, a new budget headset for around 120 or a second hand David Clark for around 150.
    What do you think ?

Johnny K, I see from your icon picture you possibly fly flexwings?

That being the case your choice of headset is dependent on what intercom system you have on your aircraft?

...or if you simply use the radio (A6/A24 etc) headset adapter (included in radio purchase) then you would have to go for a GA headset (David Clark etc).

However, a flexwing does not lend itself well to GA coms and it would be my personal recommendation to use a microlight (as opposed to GA) intercom system. The choice here is Lynx, Micro Avionics or Flycom.

Once again 'my choice' for clarity and comfort is Flycom.

If you would like to discus further please feel free to Private Message me.

    Regards

    Paul

IIRC you can get a headset from Microavionics that will plug directly into the radio...?

Just compared a Lynx intercom with Lynx headsets (gel earpads) and a GA one in a Skyranger, no comparison, Lynx in the one.

Don't assume anything from that image, it's the default when you don't upload your own picture.
The three most useless things in aviation:
    • The air above you.
    • The runway behind you.
    • The fuel in the bowser.
