    GT 450 - Ignition Switch - Part Number LS-006

    Hi,

Does anyone have a link to the identical ignition switch please? P&M want over 55 quid to replace which is ludicrous.

    Thanks

    Gramac

From memory, it's just a simple TOK brand keyswitch https://www.access-electrical.co.uk/shop/view/-5087

    Ignition switch replacement

    Hi Gramac
I put in a racing cart ignition. I bought a "Ignition Push Button Start Starter Switch Carbon Panel 12 V 25 A Track/Rally/Car/Boat by Speedpro from Amazon for 18 and used the switches and LED lights to make up my own panel that fits where the old P&M unit was

Its a simple switch with a cover on. Flick the cover up and the starter circuit is live. Flick the master switch on and the ignition is live. Now press the (much more robust and water proof) starter button. Once engine is running, flick down the starter circuit switch and isolate the starter circuit. Ignition and other electrics stay on.

I did not like the flimsy starter button that uses a very sensitive micro switch that can initiate the starter motor while in flight when the corner of the map case just touches it. Almost lost the entire starter motor system and possibly gearbox when that happened

Why have a key. They fall out/get lost and serve no useful purpose when it is easy to pull the ignition wires from the switch and short them out to start up anyway.

I think the racing switch looks better as well

    Just my thoughts
