Is the Icicle 2019 Fly in happening

    Hi All
I have not seen any news about this fly in. It would be a pity if it did not happen. It may yet become flyable for more than an hour before it gets too warm, wet and windy

I was just thinking the same thing, there's nothing on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/icicle2017/?ref=page_internal
Pity it was a good social event that brought a lot of flyers together. At the moment our airfield is water logged so I couldn't go anyway, but still plenty of chances for cold weather

Daggnabit, this weekend looks almost ideal, high pressure, frosts and low overnight temperatures but as you say most fields still in very soggy condition.

Perhaps if this high pressure hangs on for a week?.

P.S. Met says pressure this weekend might reach 1050 HPA, I dont even know if my altimeter setting scale goes up to that! careful now

If we do get an extended period of freezing weather (and my council is forecasting -3 so would be perfect) I can only hope the ground freezes. Standing water at Sandy right now

It got to 1048 on Monday. Our scale stops at 1050! Smooth as glass up there.
