    Yes, cooling is CHT not EGT.
    Is the carb canted / slanted? It should be perpendicular to the engine and not necessarily anything else. If canted it will feed one cylinder more than the other.

    Just to add.. not only perpendicular to the block, but horizontal... check with a stright edge across both carb tops so that they both "line up" and one is not "Skew"

    I Just read back through the thread again and it's a dual ignition but single carb. I was going to suggest points/timing but it's cdi.
    The fact that there's just one carb makes me think the probes are reading differently, generally there is only one probe with single carb machines.

    Mine is single carb with 2 probes mate

    On my forced-air cooled single carbed twin EGT probed points ignition 503 Minimax? Always.

    Even after setting the points ignitions 'bang' on.

    Yes always different, simon told me there is a baffle missing after he serviced it for me.

    Swap the probes before you start chasing fixes. They never seem to be the same.
