    So what`s wrong with this

    This has been for sale for a while now

    Doesn`t seem a bad price
    Any reason for it not selling, might just be tempted
    Cheap way to build hours after I hopefully get my licence this next year

    Well obviously it's in Australia

    I'd say probably nothing wrong. Just that not much is moving at the moment.

    Yes did wonder about rotation of pics, ok once you click on them.
    Surely not a lot of money for what it is.

    Although Ad says he has owned for the last 3 years, Ginfo states only since 2018??

    Probably better off looking for a Skyranger and 2 others to share with or maybe even a C42 ( which is what i am learning in)

    The RANS is a bit more special than a Skyranger or C42.
    But I'd choose it in preference. You need to be good on the rudder pedals (the C42 won't have prepared you for that) and you may need a bit more help with maintenance if you're not that way inclined yourself.
    It's a good going places machine. And a "real" microlight.

    Some folk thrive in a group, others really like to be sole owners. That RANS would be ideal if you're looking to own the yourself.
    As always - take an inspector with you to look at it (you'll need to pay him) and make sure you go for a flight to check you like it. It's an LAA machine so really you need an LAA inspector, not BMAA.

    Are they as good on rough fields as the nose-wheeled Thruster, Martin?

    Agree with that. The pleasure of something like a RANS is that you can get at everything easily, you can maintain and fix it yourself and know exactly what condition everything is in.
    Nice simple structure and easy to understand. There's a also a massive network of support you can tap into in the various forums and groups.
    The three most useless things in aviation:
    • The air above you.
    • The runway behind you.
    • The fuel in the bowser.


    Rule #1: Always tie-down your aircraft to the largest heaviest object available. The planet Earth meets these requirements and is readily available in all locations.
    Rule #2: The great thing about twin engined aircraft is, if one engine fails, the other engine always has just enough power to get you to the scene of the crash.
    Rule #3: You can never have too much fuel in an aircraft. Unless it's on fire.

    I wouldn't think you'd be without problems on a rough field, most undercarriages don't like to continuously work hard

    As always in aviation, "it depends".
    It depends on what you mean by rough.
    The RANS is perfectly capable of farm strip flying when flown properly. Both nose wheel and tail wheel variants.
