    Microlight strips

Is there a comprehensive list on line or in print? Lockyears seems to miss out a few fields and also doesnít indicate whether they are microlight-friendly.
    Are you the farmer?

There are lists but nothing all encompassing or definitive, if you owned a small, unattended strip you wouldn't want to advertise where an engine or two could be stolen.

Pooley's is relatively useful. SkyDemon and similar apps have most of the fields in them.

As for microlight friendly, this is a bit of a minefield. Some strips have have had an externally driven ban forced on them, because they don't want to enforce it and the locals often know little about microlights, said locals are unable to spot a 3 axis microlight so fields with microlight bands sometimes have 3 axis microlights using them. The locals only define microlight as flexwing.

Other medium sized fields are bit up and coming, or up their own back passages, and either ban microlights or have landing fees that are more expensive than a life on crack.

I'd suggest that you want to meet up with either a local microlight club or LAA Strut because the story will be different in every local area.

Stuff you glean from a forum, unless you know the real person behind the keyboard, can be deceptive.

Local pilots will have all the low down, and you'll get told things face to face, not for onward, that people won't shout to the world on a forum....

In case anyone's interested for the summer time, the French Federation has a database of all airfields suitable for ULM's.

    https://basulm.ffplum.fr/bases/carte-des-terrains.html

Only in French but Google can help ...
The three most useless things in aviation:
    • The air above you.
    • The runway behind you.
    • The fuel in the bowser.

Rule #1: Always tie your aircraft to the largest heaviest object available. The planet Earth meets these requirements and is readily available in all locations.
Rule #2: The great thing about twin engined aircraft is, if one engine fails, the other engine always has just enough power to get you to the scene of the crash.

Semper specto in clara parte vitae.
