Lightbulb Alphabet and QFU Challenges 2020

    Hi everyone,

We haven't done this for a while, so I thought I'd re-instate the Alphabet and QFU Challenges for 2020.
Previously it was done with support from the BMAA, but I propose just doing it for fun.
I will also promote it on various Facebook groups and encourage you all to do the same.

    Basic rules - Alphabet Challenge:
Fly to and land at (or touch & go) as many different airfields as possible to register the first letter of airfield name for each letter of the Alphabet.
Many airfields have more than one common name, but each airfield can only count for one letter.
Record the name and date against the letter and post your list in this thread (only include the letters acheived to keep the list short)

    Basic Rules - QFU Challenge:
Fly to and land on, touch & go on, or take-off from as many different runway QFU's as possible to register the runway number for each possible value from 01 to 36.
An airfield can be used to claim multiple QFU's but you must actually perfom a landing, touch & go, or take-off from that runway.
If a runway number changes, you may use it again and claim the new QFU(s).
Record the name and date against the QFU and post your list in this thread (only include the numbers acheived to keep the list short)

This is not a race, just a bit of fun to promote Microlight flying and encourage people to fly to some some new airfields.
The challenge starts today and runs until the end of the year.
The three most useless things in aviation:
    • The air above you.
    • The runway behind you.
    • The fuel in the bowser.

Rule #1: Always tie your aircraft to the largest heaviest object available. The planet Earth meets these requirements and is readily available in all locations.
Rule #2: The great thing about twin engined aircraft is, if one engine fails, the other engine always has just enough power to get you to the scene of the crash.

Semper specto in clara parte vitae.

As a part time foot launcher, landing into wind is more of a priority than collecting a number... the Alphabet side is more interesting....
