In the UK we're told the shops are running out of toilet rolls, but I read that the shops in France are selling out of cheese and wine!

From [here]. Headline translates as "The French continue to kiss and shake hands, but cheese and wine are sold out: this is how France experiences the corona crisis"

And, in the States, people are panic-buying guns and ammunition! I kid you not
If you're hanging on to a rising balloon, you're presented with a difficult decision - let go before it's too late or hang on and keep getting higher, posing the question: how long can you keep a grip on the rope?

Well, how else are you supposed to stop people breaking in and stealing your toilet rolls?

Just been and stocked up on Brie, Wine and Cognac, not worried about toilet paper, take the head off the handheld shower unit and there you have your very own bidet. P.s. got a few beers and whisky too, one must maintain variety for a healthy diet.

Working from home is saving me a fortune. Trouble is, there's nothing to spend it on

@Halibut think of all those fuel and beer tokens you are saving for the near future. Well pee'd off here, wind, rain and generally rubbish weather has been replace by glorious flying weather ....... and ......... we are all confined to quarters till further notice, firstly told 14 days but now, suggestions of up to 12 weeks...... My crazy is becoming very very STIRRED.
