    Pilot award required

With so many new pilots this year we need a pilot award, I was thinking about some epilettes, any designers out there have any ideas?

Best one gets a good egg award and their award used.

I'm no designer, but off the top of my head how about-

    Dick Dastardly
    A Vulcan bomber (awesome)
    a rubber chicken
    a montgolfier award (sounds classy)
a "smoke me a kipper" red dwarf thingy
a flying jacket with "Maverick" or "Iceman" on the back :>)
    A Spitfire (too predictable)
A Douglas Bader wooden leg award (I know I know, I'm going to hell)
A postage S.T.A.M.P. with the words "clear prop" under the queens head

just the ramblings of an overactive imagination....

    Valkyrie
    S.L.T.S.M.A.
(so little time, so many acronyms!)

It needs to be an image that we can save small enough to fit in with the other awards but for "captain".

We do have a lot of pilots on here so there'll be lots getting the award when someone comes up with something.

    What about one of these?

    Anyone else?

I reckon a simple epaulette would be right. Set it vertical and it fits too.

The three most useless things in aviation:
    • The air above you.
    • The runway behind you.
    • The fuel in the bowser.

Rule #1: Always tie your aircraft to the largest heaviest object available. The planet Earth meets these requirements and is readily available in all locations.
Rule #2: The great thing about twin engined aircraft is, if one engine fails, the other engine always has just enough power to get you to the scene of the crash.

Semper specto in clara parte vitae.

The captains epilettes fit they would go nicely as an award
A good landing is one from which you can walk away. A great landing is one after which they can use the aeroplane again.

    Don't be giving me epaulettes!

You know those guys you see swaggering into the control tower/portacabin wearing a white shirt with epaulettes and mirrored Ray-Bans having just got out of their 20th share in a rusty white and orange 1972 PA28? I don't want to be one of them.

By all means, give badges for hours logged; 50/100/250/500/1000/5000/10000 would be my suggested brackets, but epaulettes?please no!

I can't upload a drawing, and I'm a lousy artist anyway, but I wondered if a small bird with chevrons for wings would do.
