Microlight airfields of Southern Africa. Links to this site?

I am posting this as the Microlighters.co.za site is investigating the reprint of an old book that was pre smart phone days. It was brilliant and went into two editions. Microlight airfields of Southern Africa. It was awell written database with drawings, pictures, contact details of farms, small strips. Gps coords and vendors of petrol and lodgings in the vicinity. As with all databases it became obsolete. My take is it should be an app and the UK database is similar. To save re writing the app. The database is existing, would it be possible to tag the SA data to the UK app. If so how would we (collectively as a SA microligthers team) go about this and also would we be welcome on this database?

This would also help visiting pilots to sniff out friendly airfields..

    Thanks Paul

Great idea Paul, I'm pretty sure Vince would be happy for you to use the airfieldcards.com website and would encourage it to go global if possible, even if only for our microlight community.

    Hi Paul.

No problem mate. I would happily add your airfield data to the site. I would do you another tab like the "France" tab for South Africa and would add one record per day which is what i did in the past.

Unless some specialist database person like Gentreau would be able to import the data into the airfield cards database, which would be a better alternative.

Remember there is also an app out there and this would work in S.A. once the "app" imported the data. (it does so as it boots up)

Excellent Vince, posted back on the SA site, its a huge task with a massive amount of data that is incredibly useful. Alan Hussey will be driving this as hes doing a round SA trip in the next few months. two Rivers Odyssey so thats what triggered the interest again.

There's obviously the input form, but we do have some expertise here on the forum who may be able to help.
